📧 Configure Outlook on Desktop
Follow this step-by-step guide to configure Microsoft Outlook on your Windows desktop for Microsoft 365 email.
✅ Prerequisites
- Active Microsoft 365 user account with mailbox
- Microsoft Outlook installed (Office 2016 or newer)
- Stable internet connection
🪜 Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Open Outlook
Click the Start Menu → Search for Outlook → Open it.
Step 2: Add a New Email Account
If this is your first time launching Outlook:
- You will be prompted to add an email account
- Click Yes → then Next
If Outlook is already in use:
- Go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings
- Click New
Step 3: Enter Your Email Address
Type your full Microsoft 365 email (e.g., you@yourdomain.com) and click Connect.
Step 4: Enter Password
You'll be redirected to Microsoft login. Enter your password and complete MFA if enabled.
Step 5: Let Outlook Auto-Configure
Outlook will auto-detect settings. Once successful, click Done.
Step 6: Restart Outlook (Optional)
Close and reopen Outlook to begin syncing email and calendar.

- Ensure Autodiscover & MX DNS records are correctly set
- Use App Password if MFA blocks setup
